A: if all goes according to schedule, we'll have the list of dancers we'd like to join us up tuesday september 27th. the names will be posted in the arts building on the bulletin board. if you're among those who we accept, we'll be in touch with you soon after! good luck...

A: rehearsals are every friday from 8-10pm. this is time for members to participate in workshops and learn entire-company pieces. additional practices are scheduled on saturdays of second semester. don't worry if this sounds like a lot--rehearsals are as much fun as they are business. 

A: absolutely. it's always stressed that we are looking for people with an enthusiasm for dancing & a powerful stage presence more than anything. we accept members every year who do not have much or any formal dance training, so really this alone has no bearing on how you may fare. you may not even be aware of how great you could be until you're in that kind of environment, and we don't want to miss out on any undiscovered talent either!

A: our company takes pride in the variety of dance styles that we incorporate into our repertoire; among them jazz, ballet, hip hop, modern, contemporary, etc...our dancers draw upon their different experience & training (though some have no formal dance training at all!), lending to a very unique product. since it is the members do the choreography, what you see at our shows is very much influenced by what we choose to create and by our individual styles, and probably changes from year to year. in short, the company members have an active role in creating mosaica's identity.

A: workshops for this academic year are on friday september 16th from 7:45-10pm and saturday september 17th from 12-2:15pm. at the workshop you'll learn the audition piece and then have a week to practice before the auditions. auditions will be held on friday september 23rd and saturday september 24th. all workshops and auditions will be held in the dance studio on the third floor of the mcgill gym. sign up for workshops will start on september 15th at activities night and then will be posted on the arts bulletin board. audition time sign up will begin on monday september 19th to friday september 23rd at 4pm on the arts bulletin board.

A: yes you can still audition if you missed the workshop. there have been mosaica dancers that were accepted even though they missed the workshop. since the audition piece is taught in the workshop you'll just have to improv during that part of the audition. it may sound scary but its just another chance to express your personal style!
